He's real..

Read an article this morning about a well-known pastor in Singapore. Heard him preach before, great speaker, pastors a megachurch. A prominent figure in the local Christian community but has drawn a considerable amount of flak for his unorthodox way of preaching the gospel and spreading the message of love through his entertainment shows.

I must i admit i had my personal hang-ups regarding his entertainment shows. I thought to myself, "Must we preach the gospel this way?" However, after having read the article this morning, i seem to have gone through a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy session. I am actually impressed with the man, i sensed respect swelling up in my heart. I have decided to not be judgmental, I'm not in the position to judge anway, he is God's man. I looked beyond the outward and peeked into the heart of the man. Here's a man who wants to impact his community. Here's a man who is secure and strong enough to stand by what he feels God has placed in his heart to do even if it offends people.

"Given my profile, there will always be people who don't like me. Don't make life so difficult for yourself, go find something that you like, i'm not the only pastor in town.", he says.

What impressed me the most was that he's a man who is honest enough to share on the national newspaper that he has a daughter who has a son born out of wedlock. He is transparent enough to say that when he found out his daughter got pregnant, he was heartbroken and wanted to kick her out of the house but eventually forgave her and now the grandson is the apple of his eye.

"I don't hold grudges. Whatever you've done, whether you've taken drugs or committed a crime, if you say 'i'm wrong, please help me', i will bend backwards to help you. This is my job. But if you continue to sleep around or beat up your wife, then i'll say, leave my church. I will not help you but i will help your wife to get a divorce."

He's a pastor, he's real, no magic, no tricks, no illusion..
